A Dollar Can Change A Student's Future

Every dollar donated makes a lasting impact on a Niles Township student's educational path and future success. This summer, let's come together to ensure every student begins the 2026–2027 school year with the resources they need to succeed. By investing in education, we remove barriers to learning, support academic achievement, strengthen our community, and create brighter futures for students and their families.

The need in our community is significant and often more widespread than many realize. In Niles Township, 7.1% of residents live below the poverty level, including 4% of children. On average, 35% of students across the township qualify for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program. In one of our local schools, that number rises to at least 70%, underscoring the level of need that exists within individual classrooms. In addition, nearly 70 languages are spoken across Niles Township homes and schools, reflecting both the richness of the community and the importance of ensuring equitable access to opportunity for all students.


The challenges facing some families are even more acute. As of December 2024, 128 students in Niles Township were identified as experiencing homelessness under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, a 1987 federal law designed to ensure educational stability for children and youth in homeless situations. These students, like all students, deserve consistency, dignity, and the opportunity to learn without disruption.

When students have the resources they need, they can focus on learning, achieve their goals, and open new doors for themselves and the community. Even just a dollar makes change.
