Calling on alumni to share their expertise with our students
Ask the Expert Day: Business & Community Professionals Invited to Speak about their Career
Niles North and Niles West High Schools in Skokie are looking for energetic and enthusiastic business or community professionals interested in helping students see the significance of their academic classes and explore career options so that they are meaningfully engaged in life and when they enter the workforce.
Please join us for our 20th Annual Ask the Expert Days: A Career and Academic Content Exploration Program. This initiative is intended as a supplement to classroom learning providing a chance for students to learn about their academic subject area and/or career opportunities while acquiring knowledge about post high school education and training options, as well as additional skills necessary to be successful in their career of choice.
To volunteer, contact Lisa Edelson, D219 Education to Careers Coordinator, email@example.com or 847-626-2062.
Is Your Business Looking to Hire Reliable and Enthusiastic Employees? D219’s Workplace Engagement Program is Looking for Business Partners
Niles Township High Schools District 219 is looking for business partners to create successful and mutually beneficial relationships. The District’s Work-Based Learning Program is focused on preparing D219 students with special education needs, as well as students in the post-high school transition program, to enter the world of work. Our students are 16-22 years of age, highly motivated, willing to work, determined to succeed, focused, and enthusiastic.
How does it work? The District provides its business partners with a job coach to support the student and employer through all phases of the hiring/training process. Our services include orientation support, new hire coaching, on-the-job training modifications, and transportation to vocational worksites. Benefits to your business include reliable employees, increased employee retention and diversity, and access to the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC).
