The Education Foundation’s Emergency Grant program has helped the Niles Township Food Pantry during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many Township families have found themselves in unimaginable situations, such as unemployment, threat of eviction, and food insecurity. The Foundation donated $10,000 to the Niles Township Food Pantry to help families put food on the table and an additional $2,200 towards the Food Pantry’s School Supply Drive. Backpacks equipped with school supplies to help students get ready for this unprecedented school year, which may be predominantly remote learning, were distributed to Pantry clients and several other students throughout the Township.

Samina Hussain, Liaison to the Education Foundation, presents a check to Bonnie Kahn Ognisanti, Niles Township Supervisor, for 100 Backpacks full of school supplies for the Niles Township Annual School Supply Drive.
